So apparently it does not matter if it is a blizzard out because the Patriots will still put up a thousand points against anyone. Tennessee 59-0, Chicago I am guessing it is going to be around the same. We are legit unstoppable and it just is not fair anymore.
Let me just review something real quick: Patriots are 10-2 (most likely about to be 11-2), Bruins are 16-8-4, and the Celtics are 19-4. Also, the Red Sox just had two huge pick ups that were hear all around the baseball world. So if anyone is thinking that Boston is going to start ruling the sports universe, you were right.

Sick Breakdancing
Saw this video the other day and was like, "holy crap this kid can dance." I am not even sure how old he is but that older guy gave everything he had and the kid still made him look like a chump. There are a few times when the older gentleman gives a few moves being all you can't do that little kid then the kid comes out and is like not only can I do it but I can do it better than you! I cannot wait to see this kid grow up because if he is this good now what the hell is he going to be able to do when he gets older? He will most likely shock the world and hover during a dance routine, that's my prediction.
After seeing this, it made me remember who my favorite break dancer of all time is: David Elsewhere. If any of you have seen the movie You Got Served (terrible movie, great dancing) you will remember him as the weird bendy dancer nearing the end of the movie. The way this guy moves it is ridiculous. I sometimes feel like vomiting while watching him dance because it just looks impossible and very uncomfortable with what he is able to do. Either way, enjoy this video of David Elsewhere:

I can finally sleep again
Well where to begin? Let me just say that was the best performance a team could put on while the whole nation was watching. Oh and it was on Tedy Bruschi night so that just makes this win so much better (which by the way I am very pissed that ESPN did not show the halftime ceremony, didn’t they say they were going to play it at some point during the 3rd quarter). Either way, all I have heard for this past week was the Jets talk shit. Let’s eat a goddamn snack? Is the snack your words because that is what Rex Ryan had to do after the game; or at least try to not cry, come on Rex! The NY Times said this earlier today:
“It was as if [Rex] wanted to play down the perception that a shift in power was taking place. Too late. The shift has occurred: the Jets are in ascendancy, while New England is in retrograde, though it has nothing to do with one game, one season, injuries or upheaval. The shift was set in motion three seasons ago by a moral misstep by Belichick. The Patriots empire began to unravel the day New England was caught cheating.”
Are you kidding me with this? You can take spygate and shove it up your ass because that is what Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots did that to you tonight. We know we are a dominant team and don’t need to cheat, we will kick your ass anyway.
In every way possible the Patriots out did the Jets tonight. On the field and even off the field. I assume most of you watched the game so talking about how Tom Brady went 21-29 for 326 yards and 4 TD’s, Welker went 7-7 for 80 yards and a TD, Woodhead had an unreal game and the Patriots defense had its best game of the season would just be a waste of time. Instead I would like to comment on how different their play was off the field, e.g. Postgame press conferences. After the game the Patriots still showed class and sportsmanship, they went out and said this was a big win yes but it was still just a win. They understand how important every game is in this league, how 10 wins gets you nothing, and now that this one is over they better look forward to next week and start working all over again. A player who always displayed this type of behavior was Bruschi and that is why tonight was so special to every Patriots fan.
....Ok I had to say how awesome it was that the Patriots defense got three picks tonight, a strip ball that never got called, and just all around great play. They showed that they can stand against the teams the league calls "one of the best".
Here is the link to the Patriots homepage so you can check out the Postgame Press Conferences and a montage devoted to Bruschi, pretty sick.

Tim Thomas Save of the Season
This was probably one of the most exciting games of the season even with the way it ended. Timmy has had some hot hands lately being 9-1-0 on the road (after this game), just shutting down opponents every game. This, however, is an amazing save even for him. I thought for sure that the game was over and I thought I even saw the puck in the back of the net but somehow big Timmy "The Tank" Thomas comes up with the most unreal save ever. The Bruins play again on Tuesday against Buffalo at home, Tuukka will most likely get the start but I would not be surprised if Timmy got another start.

New Four Loko?
So after all our talks in class and it even getting banned in this state we are still talking about this drink. This is because a new version of Four Loko will be on shelves as of December 13th, this time with no caffeine in it due to the new laws in place across the nation. Doesn't surprise me, put out the crazy version first that everyone is going to want and make a name for yourself. Phusion Projects, the manufacturer of Four Loko, probably knew that the first drink would be banned and had this strategy the whole time. They knew that the drink would be hit, especially among college students, that when the new drink hit the shelves everyone will try it.
The real question: will this new version even match up to the old? That is a question no one will know until it comes out. I am not much of one for fruity drinks so the one and only can I will buy will be to see what it is like, past that I can not see myself buying it.

This video is great. They somehow got every Boston stereotype in one video and made it hilarious. Pretty sure one of those guys is from New Kids On The Block or something like that. Either way, wicked funny and I think everyone from Mass should see this video. The one problem I had with it was that one chick who said "idears". This isn't New York hunny, we do not pronounce our r's like that and the directors should have known better. But I digress, still very funny and I hope you all enjoy it. TEDDY WILLIAMS!

MJ is the only person who could say this to Lebron
I've been saying this for awhile. This is all Lebron is doing is just making excuses for why he hasn't won a championship yet. I know MJ did have Pippen and Rodman but he never talked as much as Lebron does. The only problem I have with MJ is that he claims to be the best to ever play the game. There is no way to know that. I am not saying that MJ isn't a great ball player, he really is one of the best, but the way he goes about it is all wrong. Have some humility man. I see a similarity between him and Lebron; it's that everything is about him, every game the Bulls won was because of MJ, he was the one who carried that team. Things like that make me sick and forget that he is one of the best to play the game. Just like in this commercial (at least I think that's what it is) he claims that everything he did inspired people to be like him and play the game differently. Does he forget that people like Larry Bird and Magic Johnson who are two unbelievable basketball players played before him and are two humble people. Has anyone ever heard of Bird or Magic saying the things MJ said here or in his hall of fame induction speech. Either way, it sucks because MJ really is the only one who could say this and it would make sense, I just don't like the way he said it.

Sid the Kid Pyramid Trick
Did he mean to do everything he just did? If he did that is nothing short of amazing. I am not a Sidney Crosby fan because I think he is a wimp in the sport of hockey. He does not like being hit and only tries to score, he never plays defense which does not sound like a team player and I hate that. However, this is rediculous. How could someone be this good at something like this. Come to think of it I am sure Ray Bourque could have done this. I am sure a lot of players can do this now that I think of it but it is still crazy that it can be done.

Slayer Christmas Decoration
I never like it when anything that has to do with Christmas comes out before Thanksgiving. I am talking mostly about music and decorations. Cant American’s just enjoy one holiday at a time? I don’t even like the idea of Thanksgiving or Christmas, I know that sounds bad but that’s because neither holiday even made sense to me. Thanksgiving is built around us appreciating a nation of people after we almost killed all of them. It’s like trying to say sorry when you did something really bad that can’t be made whole again so we decide to make a holiday in their honor. No wonder Native Americans protest every year in Plymouth (thanks Cope). It was a way to unite a group of people who trampled over another. I know it has taken on a new meaning since that time but I feel it is important to remember what we have done to get there.
As far as decorations go, I will make an exception for this decoration. I am not even a huge slayer fan, I prefer a different kind of music (not one that involves heavy screaming) but I still can listen to them. I just think this person has balls to put this up and someone with that much balls gets an A+ in my book.
I also want to include what I am most thankful for, that’s kind of the new meaning right? I am extremely thankful for my family and close friends. A lot of people don’t realize how lucky they are to have great friends if they are fortunate to have them. I am also thankful for the opportunity to go to college and pursue a degree, it is an opportunity not many people get. Lastly I am very thankful for my health and the ability to be alive for another year.
I wish everyone a very happy and safe thanksgiving, and don’t forget to think about what is really important to you in your life and cherish it.

Even Pat Sajak Can't Believe It
She slept with Pat. That is the only explanation. I am not going to lie, it sometimes takes me awhile to solve some of these puzzles. So when this women just says this phrase out of nowhere when she only has one letter, it's a little hard for me to believe. She wasn't even in the lead in money, then all of a sudden she gets this prize puzzle. C'mon man! What I really don't get is why she choose the letter "L"? If she knew what it was she could have choose "T" that was up there 3 times or even "G" that was up there 2 times. I guess this happens in game shows sometimes. I wonder how much tail Richard Karn got when he hosted Family Fued, he was also Al Bourland which I bet helped a lot.
Ew
This was one of the hardest games to watch. The offense did not show up at all and it seemed that Mangini anticipated every move we made. The numbers really speak for themselves. Hillis ran for a career high 184 yards against us and his first run of the game really set the tone for the rest of the day. Colt McCoy did a fantastic job going 14 for 19 for 174 yards, showing his versatility as a quarterback being able to throw on the run.
The Patriots have a lot to work on but nothing is more important than Brady chilling out and making some throws. Brady went 19 for 36 with 224 yards; there were a lot of throws that he should have made, some were behind defenders and some were just poorly thrown at their feet. However, the Browns defense did do a great job getting to Brady and shaking him up.
As far as our running backs go; I have always and will always love Green-Ellis but when something isn’t working in a game it isn’t working in a game and he was not working. The Lawfirm had 9 touches for 14 yards and was stopped on the goal line several times. On the other hand Danny Woodhead was able to step up and have a pretty good game getting 9 touches for 54 yards.
Our receiving was pretty evenly laid out, other than the fact that Hernandez got 2 TD’s (the first made number 4 on ESPN’s top ten plays this morning because it was a freak show of a catch) and the two tight ends got thrown at the most the whole game. When it comes to our receiving, we need to use start using all of our weapons the entire game. The Patriots have so many options it scares me at times. Welker has been getting doubled up so much that it is getting harder for him to be the clutch player we remember him as. When Randy was around he was able to take the top off the defense and allow Welker to get open for an easy first down (this is the biggest reason why I miss Randy so much). However, when Welker gets doubled up that means others like Hernandez, Gronkowski, Branch, and Tate should be open. For some reason we have been going 3 and out a lot this season and it is becoming very annoying.
Lastly, I would like to ask the question why is it so important to everyone else in the league to beat the Patriots? We never get any recognition for what we do but for some reason when other teams play us they think they just won the Superbowl. When we lost in the second week to the Jets they did the same thing to Rex that the Browns did to Mangini last night. Usually when a football team does this they won a very important game, like a game you couldn’t go on without. But if you ask someone like Bill after a win in the regular season even if it was extremely important for us to win, he will simply answer that it is what we need to do but we haven’t gotten anywhere yet. The Browns are 3-5; maybe they should worry about winning more games and not showering their coach in Gatorade.
Suck it Mangini, suck it.

Tallest Man On Earth - The Gardener
Tallest Man on Earth - The Gardener - A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque on Vimeo.
So I am sitting at work on Saturday night and got really bored because everyone is out or home. This is when I decided to show another great song, that I don't think many people know about, to the ten people that actually read this thing. I heard about The Tallest Man On Earth (real name is Kristian Matsson) two years ago and immediately loved the song. Everything from how difficult the song is to the crazy camera angles that are used in what are called "take away shows" I thought was terrific. If you didn't catch it, at the beginning of the video the guy who I am guessing runs this store (which is located in New York and is the size of a small room) says the guitar that Matsson is using is from the 1800's. Matsson might have been careful with the guitar but he rocked the shit out of that little number. I hope whoever ended up buying that guitar sees this video.
There are still more take away shows to come, so keep reading COMM 240

Randy Moss is a dick to a waiter, time to waiver
Apparently Randy Moss was acting like a jackass to everyone so that’s how the Vikings came to the conclusion to release him. I think Tedy says it best that they gave up a third round draft pick and really only gave him a few weeks to make due. I would just like to say that Childress is not doing is job at all. If player management is what he is worried about then start managing Favre, like Tedy said he made this whole last week about him and how he will be able to play. It’s a team sport Brett, trying being a team player. The Patriots act like a team at all times and that’s one of the reasons we wiped the floor with you guys on Sunday. If Childress wanted to handle Moss then he should have benched him or had a some sort of conversation with him on his behavior. Not send his ass off on the first speed bump.
I do have a theory why Randy did act this way. We got a third round draft pick for him so now what he does is go to that team, break it up morally, and now we may have another chance to get him back for next to nothing. Belichick is a genius like that so I wouldn’t put it past him. I just didn't think Randy could work that fast, he is good.
Guy stays awake for 40 days and doesn't die
Tyler Shields a photographer in Los Angeles claims he set a world record by staying awake for 40 straight days, which works out to 968 consecutive hours. Is anyone buying this?
Over the summer I worked at a hospital, it was just an office, but I worked with students who were planning a career in medicine. One in particular did sleep deprivation studies over the past summer and he told me that they would keep people in a room for about ten days. When I asked "why ten?" assuming they made them stay awake for ten days he said they kept them awake for three and the rest was to make sure they did not go insane. The people he watched would do crazy things and become very irrational, so it is a little hard for me to believe this guy stayed awake for 40 straight days.
Did anyone else see this? A friend or something? Shields said "he surrounded himself with a team of monitors who watched over him 24 hours per day throughout the stunt." The one thing I feel I have taken away from my journalism class is CHECK YOUR SOURCES. Shields was the only one interviewed for this story. If there was a team of monitors then why weren't they interviewed, quoted, or even given names past this. No one else was interviewed, which is the other reason why I have a hard time believing this. I can say I stayed awake for 40 days but it doesn’t mean shit until you can prove it. I am so happy the Guiness Book of World Records is not recognizing this, they are doing that for a reason: HE CAN’T PROVE IT BECAUSE IT NEVER HAPPENED.

Moss waived by Vikings
Head coach Brad Childress has told the Vikings that Randy Moss will no longer be with the team. Well that didn't take long. Apparently Childress did not like his post game press conference too much when Randy basically told the whole world how awesome the Patriots organization is and how the Vikings will never match up to them in play and in coaching ability.
Moss is going to be on waivers for the next 24 hours and the Patriots have last dibs because we have the best record in the NFL. If Moss isn't claimed he can sign with whichever team he wants (seems like he really wants to play for the Pats again). However, I don't think that it will even come to that. There are too many teams that need a player like Moss even after what he said in his press conference. The teams I think that will try to pick him up are going to be the Chiefs, Lions, or Rams. The Rams are heating up right now and nothing would be better for Sam Bradford than a deep threat like Randy. Also, the Chiefs already have everybody and their brother from the New England staff so why wouldn't they want Randy. Cassel has already had a great season with Randy so there is no concern there and they are on the rising so this would be a great improvement for them. As many of you know, I would still love to see Randy in a Patriots jersey but I am being realistic and not getting my hopes up.

Thomas is on fire
Tim “Tank” Thomas led the Bruins to a 4-0 shutout against the Senators on Saturday night to make it his third shutout in his first six starts. “Tank” has a .50 GAA (goals against average) which is the lowest for any goalie in the first six games of a season in the expansion era. He is also only the second goalie in the expansion era to record three shutouts in the first six games of the season. “Tank” hasn’t allowed a goal since Jason Chimera slid one in with 9:27 left in the 3-2 win over the Capitals on Oct. 21st; his shutout streak is 130:33 and still counting.
Thomas’ amazing goaltending isn’t the only thing to take away from this game. Our transition game and being able to create offense faster has improved greatly which has led to our recent success. Much of that success can be linked to our newcomers Nathan Horton, Tyler Seguin, and Jordan Caron. Since their arrival the speed has picked up and plays are being made more often and more fluidly. Caron has added more depth to our already great penalty kill which is now the best penalty kill in the NHL with a 93.1 percent success rate and have allowed only two power play goals on 29 attempts.
If our team is able to stay healthy we are going to be one of the best teams in the league. Once we get Marc Savard back then it is good night folks for any team we play. The Bruins are ranked fourth in the league, a step up from last weeks seventh.

Sunday funday kicking Favre's ass
First the game: The New England Patriots were able to defeat the Vikings 28-18 on Sunday Oct. 31st. It was a shaky first half for the offence but the Patriots really stepped it up in the second half. Brady comes away throwing 16 for 27 with 240 yards and a touchdown. Green-Ellis got the offence off on a great start at the beginning of the second half with two great runs back to back; he also rushed for two touchdowns making it his first multi-touchdown game and had a late 26 yard run to put us on the Vikings 1 yard line when we were down by three. Woodhead got in on a few key plays and had a huge 3rd & 12 run for a first down, there were glimpses of Kevin Faulk on that play. Brady and Tate were able to connect a few times, one was for 65 yards on a great scramble play (the longest Patriots pass play on the season, see video above); it was really good to see how well the entire offence is clicking with one another.
The defense also had a great game holding the Vikings to what they had even with all the possession time the Vikings had. One player that stands alone in this game on defense was Devin McCourty who is in talks of being one of NFL’s top rookie defenders; McCourty getting an interception for the second game in a row on Sunday showed he is a player that needs to be watched. There were a few times in this game when you could see the defense step up and make a huge play. Even though it wasn’t overturned, Adrian Peterson’s touchdown in the 2nd quarter should not have been counted thanks to a strong stop by the defense. Also, the fourth and goal stop was a huge shift in power going into the locker room at the end of the first half. In the second half the defense really wanted to let Favre know they were there. Then answering all of America’s prayers, Myron Pryor came through and laid a clean hit on Favre to knock him out of the game with a face laceration. Watching Favre being wheeled off the field was a great sight no one has ever seen.
New England is playing strong football right now, however, staying focused is what this team needs to do. “One game at a time,” said Tom Brady “coach always says six games gets you nothing in this league.”
Moss’s Return: It seemed that the crowd reacted well to Moss’s quick return to Gillette. Moss had only one catch for 8 yards and it seemed he was booed on the play. If that is true I am disgusted in any fan who booed Moss. He spent some of his best years here and loves New England. This is what he had to say after the game: “I just want to be able to tell the guys, I miss the hell out of them, every last helmet in that locker room…To the New England Patriots fans, that ovation at the end of the game that really felt heart-warming. I think I actually shredded a tear for that."
Moss isn’t sure how much longer he will be playing for and he isn’t sure how many times he will be coming back to Gillette to play. He clearly misses us (and why shouldn’t he, we just put his hall of fame quarterback in a retirement home) and we should miss him.
As far as Moss’s press conference after the game, I thought it was completely bad ass. He is willing to take a 25 grand fine every week just to not talk to the press and why not. He has never liked talking to the press and he shouldn’t, they just never see eye to eye. Just classic Randy being straight cash homey:

Nice commerical D3, how did you guys do in the game?
This is a commercial that was played during the opening season game between the Celtics and Heat on Tuesday night sometime during the 3rd quarter. That was when we were beating them. This commercial came on while the Celtics were beating the Heat, priceless. It’s a classic case of one team who cares about playing basketball as a team and winning a championship for the team and most of all the fans. The other team is only concerned with endorsements, commercials, and how they play individually, it’s proved when they refer to it as winning a ring rather than winning another championship (the rings are for the players not for the fans). The only reason the “dream three” all moved to Miami is to win a ring, nothing wrong with that but it is wrong when the only person you want to win a ring for is yourself. Either way it was great to see happen what I knew was going to happen: Lebron James puts down 31 points while Bosh had 8 and Wade had 13, which are solid numbers. However, the Celtics were able to play more as a team, with Pierce getting 19, KG 10, Allen 20, and even Big Baby came off the bench and scored 13. Rondo dished out 17 assists (no one on the Heat got over 6). Smart shutdown defense and game management were able to get us that win against such a heavily favored team. Now we just have to listen to how “awesome” LA is…shit, why do most analyst hate all Boston sports teams? Seriously, next time a Celtic Heat game is on TNT pay attention to what the commentators say. Can’t remember who it was but every time the Heat scored he would scream “YES!” then explain what just happened while for us he would just pretend to get excited then explain. It’s disgusting how much of the sport world is in love with the Heat or the Jets or the Yankees or the Capitals (the Bruins went 2-0 against them at the beginning of the season if you don’t remember).

Germans, dildos, and cops, what else do you need
This is in my top 5 funniest videos online of all time. This guy just doesn't care that he is being arrested. I thought it was over with the dildo but then he pulls out some panties and decides to suck the dildo for some weird German reason. It's great that the cop doesn't even know that the guy has a dildo so the guy just starts poking him with it. Cop gets so pissed too cant you just laugh something like that off, the guy did. Well by the end of the video the guy knew his fate and just accepted it, but he did go out with bang and you can't take that away from him.
P.S. - So this is another hilarious online video that I am sure everyone has seen. Just thought I would remind you guys, just thought:

Drunk History is F-ing hilarious
This is a video of Duncan Trussell (a historical expert) talking about Nikola Tesla and how Tesla invented alternating current, but he did it while he was hammered. There are about seven of these Drunk History videos and they are all hilarious. It is absolutely genius how they set this up too. They got famous actors to come in and mouth over whatever nonsense Trussell was saying and somehow matched up perfectly. The other videos are great and I definitely recommend watching them. Here’s another though because this is one of my favorites:

Music Sample of the Week
So I am going to start posting videos of music that I really enjoy. It's good music and everyone should hear it. I wanted to post this video first because I just heard it for the first time the other day. This guy Igor Presnyakov is absolutely dirty at playing the guitar, one of the best I have seen. He reminds me of another group I started following in high school, Rodrigo y Gabriella, because they would strum their guitars and drum on them at the same time. They were able to make it sound like there were four people in the band, when I listen to Igor I think it’s a guy with seven arms he is so good. My roommate commented that the only thing he did not like was his voice, which I found interesting. I feel like his voice really completes him as an artist; he looks like this beat up old man who can kick the crap out of any song on guitar so why shouldn’t he sound that way too. I have added his channel on Youtube to the links section check out some of his other covers, which include: Sweet Home Alabama, Use Somebody, Love the Way You Lie, No Woman No Cry, and many more with some of his own songs in there.

It's going to be a good fall and winter!
This was a good weekend to be a Boston sports fan; the Bruins had a great 4-1 win on Saturday over the New Jersey Devils and the Patriots had an awesome come from behind victory in OT against the Baltimore Ravens earlier today.
On Saturday the Bruins faced off against Kovalchuk and the Devils. Tim Thomas got the start for the second game in a row and couldn’t have played better; a huge save came on a dangerous shot by Kovalchuk during a penalty kill at the beginning of the 2nd to keep it tied at 0 (p.s. – I love Jack Edwards, especially when he says stupid things). Other notables were Jordan Caron getting his first career NHL goal, and Shawn Thornton and Michael Ryder got their first goals of the season with Lucic tallying another goal making it 2 for the year. Tyler Seguin picked up his first career NHL assist but the most important part of this was that if you squinted your eyes it looks just like Mark Savard, which is a huge loss to this team right now so it is important that someone can step up.
(Total Savard pass, can't tell you how Seguin saw Ryder but somehow gave a perfect pass for Ryder to snap it over Brodeur's glove)
The Patriots looked to even up the score with the Ravens after the shellacking the Ravens gave us in the postseason last year (which came on my 21st birthday but it was just another excuse to drink a lot). With it being our first game without Randy Moss and Deion Branch’s first game back it was tough to tell how we were going to do. All in all it was a great game, we struggled mostly on offense through 3 quarters and our defense was pretty solid (minus all the penalties Meriweather racked up, one might lead to a fine). Even with all the bad there is plenty of good to come out of this game. In Branch’s first game back he recorded 9 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown being the only Patriot to score a touchdown in his second stint after being gone for 4 years. Another notable was Zoltan Mesko’s 65 yard punt in overtime; it set the Ravens back on their 19-yard line which was huge (every time New England needs to punt, everyone must do this!). Another great game for Danny Woodhead, nothing that jumps off the page but he did have some great runs for first downs, two of them came on back to back plays that set up the 5-yard touchdown to Branch; I am still seeing little bits of Kevin Faulk whenever I watch him play, he has even got really good at picking up the blitz. There were a few streaks that we kept alive after this week: Tom Brady’s 23rd straight win at Gillette in the regular season putting him 2 behind Brett Favre, Wes Welker has had 68 straight regular-season games with at least one catch (that includes all 54 games he has played for us), the Patriots are the only NFL team to begin each of the last five seasons with a record of 3-1 or better through their first 4 games. Like I said, there is a lot to feel good about but there is a lot that the Patriots need to work on before they play San Diego next week, which the way the Chargers are playing shouldn’t be too bad but we can’t underestimate our opponent.

Cross platform reporting
Not really sure what I am supposed to say about the chapter we were supposed to read for this week. The book is right it is really important to know how to use cross platform reporting to make your story the best it can be. Mary Sheppard is quoted talking about a recent hire to her company, “he’s a writer – but he can talk to the web developer and he can tell him what he wants.” Eventually the web developer will have a background in journalism so they both know where each one of them is coming from. Also, the author gives a list of events for a reporter that is covering a train derailment:
· Arrive on scene with a camera operator
· Tweet the situation for followers
· Conduct news gathering
· Provide a live-to-air radio report
· Confirm facts with the newsdesk for website update
· Return to the newsroom
· Edit a video report for the evening TV newscast
· Check for reaction online and engage with those who have commented
With the advances to cell phones, for instance the iPhone which has unbelievably great video quality, most of these can be done on scene and almost no need to go back to the newsroom. That’s what I think; I clearly have never been in the field doing any kind of reporting like this. This was an interesting chapter and it was great to see how different online platforms can serve different purposes.

Bruins split their opening weekend
The Boston Bruins went 1-1 against the Phoenix Coyotes in their opening weekend abroad in Prague. To an untrained eye the first game was nothing special for Bruins. They looked nervous and for almost three periods seemed lost on the ice. Giving up three breakaways, which is usually what they give up in a month, wasn’t what the Bruin’s fans were hoping for. However, the first game did have some light in it. Tuukka Rask had an unbelievable game which was masked by their 5-2 loss (Rask only allowed 4 goals, the 5th was on an empty net). Rask walked away with 32 saves and a few huge saves on breakaways; in reality that should have been a 7-2 victory but we are lucky to have Rask as a goaltender. Also, off season pickup Nathan Horton found the back of the net on a pass from Milan Lucic in the slot to score his first goal as a Bruin. He would score again on a power play 9 minutes into the third.
The second game is where the Bruins regained their stride. Tim Thomas picked up his 18th career shutout (it looks like Thomas and Rask will split games almost evenly this year) and looked good in his season opener despite having hip surgery back in May. Horton picked up his third goal, while Lucic and newly acquired Seguin got the other two (that being Seguin’s first goal in the NHL). They looked much more relaxed and got back to the more physical style of play they are used to. The only thing I did not like is when we are leading in the third period, our style of play completely changes. Usually this is not a bad thing but it is when we start playing only defense with 11 minutes to go. If we only play defense then the only thing that will happen is the other team will score. We need to keep fighting until at least the 5 minute mark, which is still plenty of time to score three goals. A lot of teams would come from behind on us last year and that is because when we have a lead we just sit in our defensive zone and lightly clear the puck every time. This needs to stop, we need to play our game for the whole game. Other than that I feel that it was a great game and I am excited to see the rest of the season. GO B’S!
P.S.- Here is a video of Seguin's goal, thought I would add it because it was nasty and reminded me of old Brady to Moss:

Good to See You Again
Deion Branch has been traded to the Patriots from the Seahawks for a fourth round pick in the 2011 draft. This is the best news I have heard in a long time. I had a feeling that the Patriots were working on something to make up for Moss going to Minnesota, so what is better than a player that is known for working well with Tom Brady. Branch is a Super Bowl MVP and can finally leave Seattle, a less talented quarterback, and a city where a trade never worked out. Seattle gets a fourth round pick, which is great for them, and they prepared in the off season to make up for a possible Branch trade. We still have our first round pick in the next draft and if we stay healthy we are a dangerous team. I already can’t wait for the next time the Patriots and Jets meet, we will be ready. This works out for everyone and no one is happier than me.

Woman gets smashed by car and says whatever
Whats crazy about all of this is that she only has minor injuries to her arm and collarbone. Seriously she just ate that crash and thought nothing about it. I wonder what would happen if I got hit by a car and was sent 40 feet into the air. I am 90 percent sure that I would just explode into a million pieces. Not going to lie I am a skinny kid, I can take a hit but I don't know about a car going 80 on a side street. I roll my ankle by jumping into a trench and I am out for like 5 weeks, this lady just gets demolished by this car and dusts herself off. Seriously how did that car just not see her. Not to mention that there is like 2 other lanes they could have been driving in. The driver was probably aiming for her. Honestly no one could have been paying that little attention to not see this person at all. The only explanation was that the driver was texting, guess it's time to ban it in Brazil too.

No Randy, please don't
Randy Moss has been in talks with the Minnesota Vikings about a trade, all that separates them now is an agreement on a long term deal. I am getting to this so late because I have been too busy crying and watching highlights of Moss being nasty. I knew it was going to happen I just didn't think it would happen until the end of the season. Not surprised that he is going to the Vikings though, they need him the most (other than us of course). Moss is a solid player and has always contributed to our team, I don't care what people say. He knows that he has a specific job on our team and he carried it out; however, not everyone could see that. Moss was meant to sprint down field basically every play. When he wasn't being double teamed (and sometimes when he was), Brady was able to get a throw to him. He cleaned up his attitude and gave us some great years. Moss came here for a ring and he was never able to get one, 2007 was their year and they missed it. Now Moss is going back to play for the team that drafted him in the first round in 1998, with Brett Favre as his quarterback (now it sounds weird). So here's to you Randy...wish you could have won one with us.

One of the greatest games I have seen.
Tonight The Patriots were the first team in NFL history to score a touchdown passing, rushing, on an interception return, on a blocked field goal attempt, and on a kickoff in a single game (it also all came in the second half). It safe to say that special teams stepped up, but underneath it all is a single player that made most of this possible. Pat Chung blocked a punt and a field goal, and was also able to get an interception that he brought back himself 51 yards. One of the blocks was taken back by Kyle Arrington for 32 yards and the other was brought in by a 12-yard run by BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Chung wasn’t the only player on the field with a big game; Brandon Tate ran back a kickoff return for 103 yards to begin the second half, his second of the season. Another record set tonight was Tom Brady becoming the quickest QB to reach 100 wins in the history of the NFL. Wes Welker came down with 8 catches for 70 yards, while newly acquired Danny Woodhead caught Tom Brady’s only touchdown.
Not everything that happened during the game was great, tonight was the first game that Randy Moss did not have a reception while playing for the Patriots, going on a 51 game streak. With a bye week coming up the Patriots have plenty of time to prepare for Baltimore.
