Kevin Faulk out for season with knee injury

As if the loss on Sunday was not bad enough, Patriots fans have to deal with Kevin Faulk being out for the season because of an ACL tear.  Faulk tore his ACL in his right knee as he was being pushed out of bounds by Jets Drew Coleman.  Throughout the years Faulk worked harder than any other player on our entire team.  Acting as Mr. Clutch in every situation we needed him; no doubt one of the best third down converts in the league.  His stats never wowed anyone but his presence on the field has.  Between the pass blocking, the big plays he comes up with, and the always ability to get a first down when we need it, Faulk is the player every coach wants; he loves his team and he loves to play football.  Kevin Faulk has been a huge asset to this team and his loss will be felt.

The Patriots have stepped up when the times calls for it (Bledsoe) and we do have the ability to bounce back from this.  We have strong running backs, Fred Taylor has been doing great I just do not understand why he only plays for less than one half.  Sammy Morris has the capabilities to step up and do what Kevin Faulk did for us all those years.  For third down conversions inside four yards use BenJarvus Green Ellis, he is a strong runner that can run through the people to get three or four yards every time.

It came at a terrible time but when is it a good time for an injury, especially for a player like Kevin Faulk.  Hopefully the Patriots can use this as a spark to get things started again.

  1. Man, when I heard about this, I almost died. lol I mean, you said it best. After last Sunday's disaster, then to hear this....I almost felt like this was going to be it for the Pats. But, I am staying hopeful and positive that we WILL recover from this and will get back to winning games!

  2. This sucks, flat out. There is NOONE on the roster they can put in that spot that will be as good at the blitz pickup. They've tried out edleman at that spot and I'm sure he can make plays out of the backfield, but can he pick up the blitzes like faulk. That ability of Faulk's helps keep Brady upright and giving him time to make plays. If they can't duplicate that it's going to be an issue. The only real strong suit of this team, the offense, just got a little bit weaker. NOT good.
